The Ultimate Hospital Bag Guide for Mums: Essentials, Extras & Mummy Certified Tips
The internet is an incredible resource for new mums—it certainly was for me during those 3 a.m. moments when my newborn surprised me with something new. But let’s be honest: the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming. It feels like there’s a tidal wave of conflicting advice, and you’re left wondering, “What’s accurate? Who should I listen to?”
I felt this confusion when it came to packing my hospital bag. I found myself bouncing between the NHS website, influencer birth bag videos, and tips from family members who had far simpler experiences. Sure, I had the essentials covered, but what about those little luxuries that can make the experience just a bit more comfortable?
I wanted my hospital bag to be practical yet stylish, with items that felt fresh and new—slippers, a cosy dressing gown, adorable baby bodysuits, and more. But as I shopped around, I quickly realised there wasn’t one place that offered everything I needed, from the essentials to those “nice-to-have” extras. Zara for this, Primark for that, Mamas & Papas here, and Next there—it was exhausting!
That’s where we step in. Our mission is to simplify your third-trimester prep by providing a one-stop shop for your hospital bag. Not only can you find all the essentials in one place, but we also give you a complete checklist, including those thoughtful extras that might not cross your mind—until you see them and think, Ah, I’d love that in my bag!
Here’s our comprehensive hospital bag checklist, based on online research, personal experience, and feedback from other mums. Remember, every journey is unique, so feel free to add extra items that feel right for you.
